THE GAME

In the game, our team will compete on an alliance of three versus another alliance of three, with the colors BLUE or RED.  There will be fifteen seconds of autonomous mode, in which the robot operates completely by itself based on programs downloaded to the robot's computer. Then there will be two minutes of tele-operated mode, in which human players drive the robot using controllers.

There are 2 rows of bumps approximately 1/3rd of the length of the field. The bumps are 13 1/2 inches tall and 12 inches long at the top. In the center of the bumps there is a tower. Robots get points for suspending from the tower at the end of the match. At 21 inches above the floor on the Tower structure there is a 41 by 32 inch platform. On top of the towers there are return bars which is where the balls roll down when they are returned to play. Human players place the balls on the return bars to return to play.

The robots score points by "kicking" the soccer balls into one of their goals. Each scored ball is worth 1 point. Robots can also score points by elevating themself on the tower that corresponds to the allience color. Each elevated robot is worth 2 points. If a robot can suspend itself from another robot, the alliance gets 3 points.
